Taiwanese Creativity Shines Globally: Hu Creates Leads Artists to San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (SDCC) 台漫實力閃耀國際：胡創攜手台灣創作者征戰 2024 聖地牙哥國際漫畫展
In July 2024, the world’s premier annual event for comics and animation, San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), grandly opened at the San Diego Convention Center in California. This year, Hu Creates Co., Ltd. proudly led a group of highly representative Taiwanese creators across the ocean to the North American market, showcasing the profound strength of Taiwan’s original IPs on an international stage that attracted over 150,000 attendees. In a debut collaboration between the Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles and the Taiwan Character Brand Licensing Association, the Taiwan Pavilion (Booth 5524) featured Jon, creator of Shaogao; ErA, creator of BIRD ERA; and Paula Hsu, the Marvel trading card illustrator, as resident artists. Through engaging activities such as live caricature drawing, they successfully promoted Taiwanese works to American fans.
Beyond the gathering of top global industry leaders at the forum, Hu Creates guided the creators in sharing sessions, helping them transform personal creativity into brand assets with significant commercial value. Shaogao resonated with audiences through his humorous take on daily life; BIRD ERA conveyed IP diversity through themes of nature conservation; and Paula Hsu stunned the crowd with her exquisite American-style illustration. Additionally, U.S.-based Taiwanese comic artist E. J. SU was invited to join the Artist Alley (HH-19), working alongside the creators to expand the overseas licensing and publishing market for Taiwanese animation and comics.
